Nearby Salisbury, N.C.— Students from North Hills Christian School captured first place in the state mock trial competition, combining preparation, teamwork and impressive poise under pressure. Among the standout participants was senior student-athlete Jacob Taylor Kriminger, whose contributions helped lead the team to victory. 


Throughout the competition, the North Hills Christian team demonstrated strong courtroom command, clear presentation of facts and a consistent drive to perform. Kriminger, performing in the role of an attorney-student during the event, helped argue key motions, cross-examine witness-volunteers and coordinate strategy with teammates. Even in high-stakes rounds, his composure and preparation stood out.


Behind the scenes, the team logged hours of review sessions. Kriminger and his peers studied case law, practiced witness role-play and refined their speaking technique late into the evenings. That level of dedication paid off when the final round concluded and the judges announced North Hills Christian as the winner of their unit. 


The win gives Kriminger and his classmates more than a trophy—it gives them real-world skills in analysis, argumentation and collaborative leadership. As the team reflected on their performance, Kriminger noted how the experience taught him more than just “who wins or loses.” He said the mock trial sharpened his ability to organize information, speak clearly and work with others toward a common goal—skills that extend far beyond the classroom.


With the title secured, Kriminger now looks ahead to his senior year of activities at North Hills Christian with confidence and a stronger sense of purpose. He and his team-members are already turning their attention to next year’s goals, motivated by the taste of success and ready to build on their strong foundation.
